Pros and Cons of Being a Work-From-Home Mom

I love being a mom. Especially a work-from-home mom. It's the best job in the world. But when it comes to jobs, it's definitely one of the most demanding and non-negotiable ones out there. But just for fun's sake I've made a list of pros and cons in case any of you readers are debating the possibility of becoming a stay-at-home/work-from-home mom :)

Con
* When we ask for a raise (hah. I mean pay in general, in monetary form) it's like talking to a brick wall, or rather a toddler who simply just stares at you like you're nuts.

Pro
* Paychecks aren't scheduled, but you get slobbery kisses and random hugs throughout the day, which is like getting paid more than once a day. Now how often does that happen?

Con
* The work never seems to end.

Pro
* You're well rounded in various skills from being a nurse to a teacher to a maid to a chef to an event organizer to the list goes on. Let's just say you'd be overqualified for almost any job out there :)

Con
* You lose sight of when you'll ever wear those fancy heels and red lipstick ever again.

Pro
* You can do most of your work in clothes that are actually comfortable, even if you don't feel supermodel cute.

Con
* It takes you what seems like hours to do a task like making a brochure, because you have to stop every 5 minutes to prevent your toddler from sticking pasta in the vents, or pulling the dogs tail, or scratching up the dvds. :)

Pro
* You become the ultimate master multi-tasker. Oh and you seem to grow eyes in the back of your head.

Con
* Let's face it. We don't get sick days.

Pro
* When I don't feel well, I'm fortunate enough to have a husband who makes me tea and lets me sleep and I have a toddler who is genuinely caring and gives me great lovings.

In conclusion, I think the pros outweigh the cons by like a lot :)

Oh the joy of being an ordinary work-from-home mom :)
